LACK OF TOLERANCE
Have you
heard about the word tolerance? It works like magic in a relationship. And you
cannot undermine or avoid it if you are aiming for a lasting and successful
relationship. Tolerance is said to be the willingness to accept or tolerate
somebody or something, especially opinions or behavior that you may not agree
with, or people who are not like you.
In a relationship,
you must not expect everything to always go your own way. Everybody must not
behave like you do. For a relationship to work out effectively and last longer,
you must learn how to tolerate other people’s attitudes and behaviors and also
accept them willingly the way they are and be patient enough to see your
desired change or error corrected, because time they say healed all wounds. Patience
they say is a virtue.
But today a lot of people lack the virtue of endurance
and patience. They can't just be patient to see their desired change or error
corrected. They walk out of relationship as if they are walking out of an
eatery which lacks excellent service.
The same way we change our Church simply because we met the pastor's wife on the way to the Church and she couldn't stop to give us a lift. We also walk out of relationship because our so-called lover forgot our birthday, ‘’same way he did last year’’, and she starts thinking "how can I marry a guy who will always forget my birthday?"
She call it a sin that cannot be forgiven, and then she
moves on from one guy to another searching for that perfect guy who has no
single error. That guy who knows how to give ladies a nice treat on daily
bases, a ready-made guy, a guy of her dreams.
This same thing affects guys too. They jump from one
lady to another. Busy doing what they call sampling and tasting to see the best
taste available. When a lady finds herself in the environment of sampling guys
she would continue to experience disappointments. They date her not for
marriage but socialization for that given period.
Today, ladies appear to be very cheap, the only thing
it would cost you to sleep with them is to promise them marriage. Once you
promise them marriage they will jump at you. When I say jump at you, I mean jump
at you with everything. So it becomes trade by barter, sex giving in exchange
for marriage promise. Some ladies are just too desperate and vulnerable.
Guys today are cruel and exploitative. They hunt for vulnerable ladies and after they have gotten the best side of her they dump such for the next prey. They aren't ready for marriage but dates. Dating is merely a packaged word for sampling; no commitment, no sacrifice, no passion.
These days nobody is willing to endure nor tolerate
any negative attitude the partner in a relationship, thereby end up falling
into wrong relationships where the partner will pretend to do everything to
please the other just for the mean time. What then do you think will happen
after marriage? Think my dear, there’s no perfect relationship anywhere, there’s
no perfect lady or man anywhere. If you say you are searching for a perfect man
or lady, then I bet you dearie you will never get married. Learn how to
tolerate the one you have, and continue to love him or her truly and selflessly
without expecting anything in return, I promise you one day there will be
change…
