Boko Haram Suffers Heavy Defeat in Surprise Attack on Nigerian Soldiers
Over fifteen Boko Haram terrorists have been killed after the sect launched a surprise attack on Rann,a small community in Borno State on Friday.
The terrorists attacked a contingent of soldiers from 3 Battalion and 112 Task Force Battalion stationed in the area at dawn, and engaged soldiers in a gun-battle for hours. About 15 terrorists died on the spot before the rest took to their heels, The Nation says.
It’s believed that the terrorists are among those recently uprooted from Sambisa Forest
Four soldiers were injured in the shootout and were evacuated for treatment.
Ammunitions recovered from the Boko Haram invaders yesterday include two AK47 rifles, one M21 rifle, ,four FN rifles, 20 X 7.62MM special, 4 X FN extra magazine and some locally made bombs.
