ONE OF THE QUALITIES OF TRUE LOVE THAT MATTERS MOST IN A
RELATIONSHIP…
I have come to understand that you cannot breed a successful
and lasting relationship without knowing how to forgive. To forgive is to stop
feeling angry with somebody who has done something to harm, annoy or upset you;
to stop feeling angry with yourself as well. How can you claim to love when you
decided not to forgive people for what they did? Why can’t you forgive that behavior
of theirs? Why have you decided not to forgive yourself if your partner should
find out what you did from someone else? What you must know is that it is in
the nature of human to err. Like the old saying; to err is human but to forgive
is divine. If you really cherish your relationship, you ought to politely say ‘I
am sorry’; it takes nothing from you to say that. And you should always
forgive.
We pray to God every day; ‘Lord forgive us our trespasses as
we forgive those who trespassed against us’. How can you expect God to forgive
you when you cannot forgive that person that wronged you? Learn how to forgive
without holding grudges. As hard as it may be, forgiveness is one of the
qualities of true love that matters most in a relationship.
Never intentionally try to make your partner to feel bad or
look bad simply because of their past mistakes, behavior, or something they did
to harm or annoy you in the past. It will leave a lasting scar that can hurt
the relationship. Forgive with the whole of your heart and not just by saying
it. Respect your partner whole heartedly.
You cannot claim to trust or
love your partner when you have not forgiven. Trust your partner and your instincts,
even if others say otherwise. Never grumble or badmouth each other even if you
are tempted to, out of anger and frustration.
